OSLO Rev. 6.1 Technical Data
All versions of OSLO use the same basic algorithms and user interface. Each
program is a super-set of the smaller versions. The differences concern the
inclusion of advanced features.
OSLO EDU and OSLO Light contain basic features:
- Basic surface types, including conics, toroids, aspheres, Zernike, gradient
index, diffractive surfaces
- Surface descriptions in global or local coordinates
- Catalog lens database and common glass catalogs
- 3D shaded, 3D wire frame, 2D plan, and ISO 10110 element drawings
- Basic evaluation including aberration analysis, ray tracing, spot diagrams,
MTF and PSF, Gaussian beam and fiber coupling efficiency calculations
- Basic optimization using the GENII or a user-defined error function with
up to 50 operands
- CCL programming and menu customization
- Complete user-interface, including graphic sliders, mouse wheel support,
custom window tiling, and status bar.
- On-line documentation
OSLO Standard is designed for routine design work:
- Unlimited number of surfaces
- Evaluation and optimization of basic zoom systems
- Full optimization using OSLO, GENII, or user-defined error functions with
unlimited operands
- Tolerancing using user-defined operands or change-table sensitivity
- Source modeling and analysis
OSLO Premium is intended for advanced design work, and for users who want the most advanced capabilities:
- Non-sequential ray trace of surfaces or element groups
- Regular or tabular arrays
- Polarization and birefringent ray trace
- Global optimization using either stochastic or chaotic methods
- Fast MTF and Monte-Carlo tolerancing
- User-defined surfaces, gradients, or ray trace
- Interferogram files import
- Advanced CCL library including Windows DLL interface for fastest execution
